Magnification for my Garmin 500

I have a problem reading some of the data on my Garmin 500 as I don’t wear glasses when I ride but I do need them to read. I know that I can reduce the number of fields on the screen which will in turn increase the font size but I don’t really want to do that. This also wouldn’t help when using the maps function.

Does anyone know of anything that I can attach to the screen that would provide some magnification?

Get a small plastic frensel lens and trim it to size and slap it on the front. Should do the trick nicely and look good too.

I think something that attaches to the screen like Harmonix said would be worth a try (non touch screen), anything that can trap moisture, rain, dust, mud ect is going to be a challenge.

Have you talked to your optometrist about contacts?

You might be able to wrap it in gladwrap before riding to keep some of it out?

Thanks guys. I've never considered contacts, and I do like the look of the fresnel lens so I might give that a go. The Garmin 500 is not a touch screen, it has buttons on the side so that won't be a problem for me.
