Boomer scootering out to flinders from mungo NP. Stopped in at broken hill for a night via Menindee lakes.

Copped the rain on the way to Mungo NP and just made the visitors centre when they closed all the roads for two days. Ended up being a blessing, spending two nights there was pretty good.

Gotta love abit of rain to keep things interesting. Thankfully it passed before it was set up camp time.

Never been out here when it’s so green! Fattest goats I’ve ever seen.

And a billion emu’s doing dumb emu things like run out in front of you, just to do a hard 180 and come back out in front of you again.
Still, it’s cool to see these big dumb birds out doing their thing.

^ that’s out the back of lake mungo behind the walls of china. Little watering hole under that bush, I would’ve had no idea it was there if I didn’t see the emu’s having a drink.

Awesome part of the world there, James. Ancient landscape. In some ways I felt it was nicer than Central Oz.
I think it is now. This is the longest I’ve spent in this part of the world, it’s been good staying a few days in each spot and exploring.. Flinders was epic, the riding was phenomenal and some of the hikes we did are fantastic.
@Ultra Lord that trip on a bike is on my bucket list, looks epic
Git’er done mate!

Trip update time!

Solo run at skytrek 4wd park in flinders! They warned me about riding my bike across the ridge at the end, “that bikes abit big most don’t do it” so the old man bailed. They were right, it was pretty tough going. Steep, and very loose. But did it without dropping it so I’m stoked.

Made it to Arkaroola for a few nights. Rode out on this self drive 4WD track that’s about 80k’s long or so, 20 METERS from the top of the last hill my old man’s clutch fails. Totally dead. Nothing to do. 4 hrs later it’s loaded on the back of an Arkaroola ute and I’m bombing the hill solo.

Trips over for him. I’ll make the decision tomorrow if I continue on to Cameron’s corner and finish the trip alone or just burn back to Broken Hill and head home on the freeway.

Looks awesome. Pity about the clutch but at least it's an easy fix.

Have you tried posting it/him on truckit? A bit left field but you never know...... ..

I’ve botched it. Bikes good to go. Amazing what a coffee and borrowing someones workshop can do. This was the last of the technical riding for this trip, it’ll be fine to carry on.
Off to Cameron’s corner today.

Nice. Was it a clutch cable?

Also that run out to camerons corner was cooked. Those corrugations and deep sand patches take a toll.

I will never ride a moto on the strezlecki(sp?) track again. Life’s just too damn short for those shenanigans.

Wrist breakering...

Nope. Clutch failed fully in Nyngen. Last 70k’s in from Bourke was spent limping along at 50km|h. Public holiday tomorrow, can’t find a hire car anywhere around here, so I’ve got a mate meeting me in Mudgee tomorrow. Gonna stow my bike safely, swap drivers back to Nyngen, load up the old man and bike, then burn back to Mudgee, pick up my bike and stay the night there.
Fuck yeah looking forward to a good 12hrs highway driving tomorrow.

Still, cracking trip. I’m amazed he made it through to Cameron’s corner from Arkaroola, that was some rough, fast offroad we did. Around 6/700 k’s that day.

Bonus pic of my bodge job after he lost the clamp holding that brake line to the fork leg. Amazed the clamp didn’t damage anything on it’s way out, fork leg is sweet.

Found that an hour after leaving Cameron’s corner on the way to Wanaaring. God my head hurts. Next trip I think I’ll go solo.

Clutch arrived for the old mans bike, but that’s a weekend job.
What could be done today was throwing my shiny new B&B tail rack onto my bike! Goodbye BMW top box rattle, hello sturdy rattle free aluminium plate.
In black obviously.

Still waiting on steering damper.
