New Bike Day Imminent - Release the Pinions

I'd love a 140mm gearbox bike, like the Zerode but more climbing focussed.
The Zerode trail options on their frames are 140mm.

I think Marino do frames with a pinion mount too if you wanted to roll the dice.
Yeah, good luck with that. I tried a dually with Pinion mount on 2 separate occasions from them and both times it was put firmly in the too hard basket, which was obviously in a very dark corner, in another factory.

I pulled the pin on the orders after 14 months and 10 respectively.

Next option... Probably a little less travel than you're after, but looks like a barrel of fun!

Another one to keep an eye on...

Not sure if these guys are up and running again, or even still running... Peregrine Bikes:

These look interesting too...

Yeah I wasn’t entirely serious with that but I have seen a pinion Marino on the FB group so maybe they got their shit together and worked it out.

Was it a hardtail? Pretty sure I saw that too.

My mostest favouritest everest hardtail was my Marino, but I can't bring myself at the moment to try and get them to do a Pinion version for me... Maybe one day.

I know I’ve seen a pinion HT but I’ve got it in my head somehow that I’ve seen a full suspension as well.

Nicholai is falling off the pack because zero options for a water bottle, as @beeb had mentioned a Saturn 16 GPI would go some way to remedying this but I'm not sure that I'm patient enough to wait. Kavenz may be in the same boat, will get in touch to see when production models are likely but the trigger finger is itchin. Trinity is getting a good look in, not sure where they are based but it would be nice to get a pedal on one before committing to a purchase.

Geez through a few graphs in there and you could be the official RB Bike Accountant/Geometrist.

Trinity are based at Deakin Uni in Waurn Ponds / Geelong.

Also, the Zerode (at least the Katipo) is fairly limited in the bottle you can fit in the front triangle. Mine (505 Katipo) will only take a 400ml Fidlock bottle.

More travel than you’re after but Starling make a steel 170mm gearbox bike.
I think Marino do frames with a pinion mount too if you wanted to roll the dice.
Starling won't actually make any more of those. And I highly recommend steering clear of that brand completely...
