You've got to really push insurance companies, the more they prolong the claim the harder they make it for you. You've got to make sure you answer them correctly and if you're unsure of a request don't answer them until you get the 100% correct info. They'll do anything to get out of large claims.

How much asbestos dust was kicking about?

On a side note, my specialist doctor, who spent 5 years mid medical degree recovering from chronic fatigue caused by mould, states mould in water damaged buildings in the next decade will finally be treated as seriously as asbestos.

I’m not sure, only that the tests came back positive on various surfaces in our bathroom, which means it was floating in through the the ceiling vents every time the wind blew from the south.
The garage was dust and visible debris.

One house down the street from us has been condemned and is coming down due to mold. They were arguing over swapping a few tiles rather than replacing the whole thing. Didn’t tarp the joint up well enough while waiting and it’s a bio hazard. now the insurance company has had to pay out on the fully insured amount plus demo fees.

Sorry to derail this thread which I said I wouldn’t participate in until more info was available. Good news is there should be some soonish.... from what I’ve heard.

we have had a few epic storms up here this week, a couple of extra fires have started up due to lightning strikes
this may get all the way to GV if the wind keeps on keeping on!

has some good things to say
I think that fire round St. Albans was a back burn
Much of it was... unfortunately, the lightning strikes started fires like Wright's Creek and Three Mile on the other side of the McDonald Valley. Without rain, the primary fire will continue to burn and the only control efforts will be focused on property protection. Putting it out is not really on the agenda since it it beyond the capacity of the available resources.

Bugger...

That part just quadrupled in size overnight. Wind keeps shifting a lot too so all our local RFS are on alert. Not sure what Glenworths protocol is for all the horses they have down there if it actually heads into the valley.

At this rate there will be nowhere left to ride in NSW come next winter.

Not sure what access is like but being close to the freeway you'd think they could get the horses out relatively quickly if need be, or maybe I'm just being naive .

after fire Freeriding is the shizz, all the small branches and leaf litter is gone leaving the natural soil to ride...
just hope it doesn't piss down rain straight after the fire has moved through, all the topsoil will end up at the bottom of the hill!

Pretty sure there is a few hundred head of horses there. It’s a fair way up the fire road out of the valley. But I’m sure they have a contingency plan.

This was after out last big HR a couple of years back. Not that the video shows it, but I know what you mean about the riding.

There’s a trail through the ridge near this tree now that was pretty much inaccessible before.
