Exotic German porn....

Got some exotic German porn to share!

Managed to pick up this seatpost on ebay for pretty cheap, then decided it would look funny without a handlebar to match. The handlebar was on special at R2 bike from ze Germans and wasn't actually that expensive after you also remove the 19% VAT. 128g for a 400mm seat post is friggin nuts!

It's Not Easy Being Green
......I'm not a big fan of the graphics, although it apparently comes off pretty easily with nail polish remover.
Out of curiosity, how did this work with getting the old decals off? Any pics now?

Nice bike btw....

Had a quick go with some nail polish remover, didn't do anything. I might have to source some full strength acetone from a hardward store. Fair few people in this thread seem to have done it:

In other news, the Mcfk stuff is a work of art. Just waiting on some wheels now, hopefully before the weekend!

My wife had some acetone lying around and I gave that a go on my frame and it worked. You just have to keep it really wet and change parts of the cloth fairly often.

You...umm...you know the stem's on upside down, yeah?
Hahahaha yeah I noticed. It has either 7° rise or -7°, I wanted positive rise so the graphics are upside down. Stooopid roadies.

In other news my wheels arrived. This build is the first time I have bought from ze Germans. Usually I get stuff from CRC, but their options and pricing seems to be slipping. Finding out that ze Germans don't charge you the 19% VAT if you live outside the EU has changed my life!

Wheels are:
DT Swiss 240 centrelock hubs
Stans Notubes Crest Mk3 rims
Sapim CX Ray bladed spokes
DT Swiss alloy nipples

The weight gave me a nice surprise. I was expecting them to be heavier than my previous Light Bicycle carbon wheels, but they are actually 65g lighter. These puppies came in at 1409g, with rim tape installed. Proper weight weenie territory. I think at my weight, the carbon rims I've had previously were wasted on me. I'm just not heavy enough for flex to be a limiting factor in my riding, so I thought I would try the new Crest rims.

The service from R2 bike is impressive. The wheels arrived with a wheel bag, signed build certificate, warranty and crash replacement policy. They even included some spare spokes.

I have removed the stickers off the rims, exclusively for aesthetic reasons, but it did save an extra 10g. That'll make a big difference.

Looking like this whip will be well under the 10kg mark, and still Thredbo AM track ready for summer.

Schweeet! :dance::dance::dance:

How do you find the new Crests?
Sorry gents, been working nights, taken a while to recover!

The new Crests seem great. They are wider than the Light Bicycle carbon rims they replace, and are the same weight. They are a fair amount cheaper too, so win win win. These wheels ended up 65g lighter than my previous wheels due to the centrelock hubs and Sapim CX-ray bladed spokes. So far I haven't noticed any difference in the stiffness, but I'm a featherweight at 68kg.

The bike is fantastic but I have had a couple of issues:

- Forgot how much my bum disagrees with the Fizik Aliante saddle I had, kept it on for three rides, nicknamed it the "arse hatchet" and swapped it for another one I had lying around
- The gears were skipping when I went through a compression on a climb, looks like I didn't have enough cable slack at the pivot point for the rear triangle
- The Mcfk stuff is amazing quality, but the logo stickers they put on are pretty shitty, the handlebar one has rubbed off where I attach my lights for night riding, might just de-sticker the seat post and bars
- Got really freaking unfit in my two months as a couch potato

Had the bike shop shorten up the cables, they also routed the rear brake through the internal cable routing for the front derailleur, looks very tidy indeed!

Thanks for processing & uploading the video!

That track looks nicer than the Flow track - a bit more challenging & certainly smoother. But it's still a new thing, untouched by skidders.

Your bike is nice & quiet, and that pedally section at the end would suit its 9.7kg.
