Interesting choice on the tyres, they opted for an enduro casing soft on the rear and a DH casing supersoft on the front. The 80g difference between the soft DH casing and the soft enduro casing tyres, you would have absolutely went DH casing on the rear of a DH bike
Decent headset riser too, lifting them bars well up.

HD6 ? Earlier in the year I was checking regularly during the big Yeti and everything sales at Summit and Sprockets... not a cent dropped on that HD6 bike or frame.
I would have replaced the Deviate with one if it went on sale.
Funny, in the USA on the 15/10 the HD6 went on sale at 25% off, the next day on the 16/10, Rowney send an email, HD6 in traffic cone orange 15% off.
Im over it now, I'll keep the Deviate and buy another eeb at some stage.
I'm not going to spend $13k on a normal bike if I can't get a test ride, I have no problem paying $500 for the privilege.
Which is weird, because I'm seriously considering an Acto even though I can't test ride it and I know the after sales will be difficult due to distance. If the lead time wasn't 4-5 months I reckon I would have ordered one by now.

It's interesting, current bikes seem to have all settled at the same place so at least it's not a cookie cutter 65/76 degree horst link 29er.
Those chain stays and main pivot are going to need to be rigid AF to stop the DU's in the rear fork binding up.
I like the bonded carbon elements in the main frame, would be interesting to see the FEA on it though to see if it works or is just marketing spin. I know that will be hard to believe in the MTB world, but sometimes they just make shit up!

I’ve always thought a modern version of some of the early FS bikes would be cool. Manitou was one of them, along with GT RTS (with idler).New old, not sure what to think of this.

But this is an abomination. Aside from fork derived suspension mechanism, it looks nothing like the original. And looks shit on its own merits to boot.

Cables routed through the handlebar & into the frame, caliper/rotor hidden by cassette. It does look misleading/weird though. Also f*ck working on it.
