3 inch rise is a thing...check the dh world.

A higher rise can work well for long torso or tall people. The change in position takes a lot of strain off your lower back, reduces weighting down on your hands, uses a different part of your core, changes where your weight goes down onto the frame, and on and on. It isnt for everybody but for some it is the mmmmmm spot.

I never even thought about that :rolleyes: it probably should have, shouldn't it? It was only 10mm of change though, and I only ran it with 29 wheels, but I never noticed any shifting issues while i was riding it.
I'm also oblivious to most things a bike so it was probably all just a placebo with me just imagining i was suddenly sapping turns like a pro... 🤣

I'm in the process of ordering a Lithium v3.

I'm pretty gobsmacked by what it's like dealing with the folk at Canfield. Wanna swap this or that component out - no problem. I missed the pre-order 10% discount - they're gonna hook me up.

Delivery is going to be a while but only because I decided to wait for the MY 27 Lyriks.

I'm not riding enough (yet) to order another frame/bike, but it's good to hear they are good to deal with.

The updated Tilt looks great for my needs and finally being able to get some longer chainstays on a CBF suspension platform is tempting.

Ive had a few dealings with them over the years and their service/enthusiasm was always excellent.

Canfield took over the inventory left over when Guerrilla Gravity went under. Messaged them chasing some small random part I was pretty sure they wouldn’t have anyway and lance Canfield got back to me within hours and tried to track down this $10 part from some other folks for me. No luck but he went above and beyond for no financial gain.

The new Canfields look nice but the STA is a bit too old school for my liking.

I know from my own experience that Canfield is the type of operation where when you ring Lance will probably answer the phone.

No. Derailleur design has evolved over the last 25-ish years so that gear change is pretty stable, and there's enough flexibility to accommodate different stay lengths and cassette sizes. You may however strike chain length issues if you also switch chainring sizes.
 
I've seen a few bikes with darkened Maxxis logos - is this a Photoshop thing or have they applied something to the outside of the tyre patch?

I thought they did release this stealthy version a few years back (I spotted it on an older video) but never seen it again since. Looks like these new greyed out logos are only offered on new OEM bikes for sale (IE: like the white logo tyres).

With the hidden rear shock and lack of cables it almost looks TOO clean. Kinda reminds me of what a bike looks like when it's a work in progress, unfinished, still up on a bike stand! That said I'd hide all my cables if I could.
 
Never liked these hidden shock bikes. I like to see what makes a bike tick and having the shock in full view is part of that. Never understood the need to hide it. But hell I prefer externally routed cables any day of the week too.
But I get why people are attracted to the clean look but it ain’t my thing.

Another thing that ain’t my thing is the fugly battery bulge in those Edroppers.
