Telling or convincing?

I like watching these videos but those bloke get bikes given to them to test, if Steve Jones blew his load over a gearbox eeb, or another was loving dual crown, the supply of transmission spares, random single crown bikes and S-Works frames might not flow as freely.

They are good docos but don't bite the hand that feeds you.

A bit like Flow. Good to get a look at the bike, but in the end, every bike is "the best ever"

Keeping the 29 front wheel , a good head angle and more travel than the SC fork had would be a pass in my books , not like their effort :)
The Oso is rated for a dual crown fork, meant to be 180mm max but whats an extra 23mm ;) 170 rear, 203 front.

I was dual crown curious then someone here (@shiny) put forward an idea at a vulnerable moment and I ended buying a Dorado Comp, it was an impulse buy and I didn't do any research, found out the comp was sprung so I returned it and got the expert, which is air along with the pro.

Thought I would give it a try and its been on there since September, completely transformed the bike. It will remain there while the bike is still alive and kicking, such a nice fork and the bike has taken my riding skills to a whole new level. Big travel, slack, downhill tyres and the motor to assist moving the big boy just works so well.

Watched the ebikes racing yesterday, they sure carry some speed coming down and clear the track quick when you can hear them 'whom-ping' through the forest as they take on the jumps.
They also seemed to reach the later stages a bit faster (better to climb on I suppose) ;)

I'm hearing ya! In 2017 I fitted a Bafang BBSHD mid drive kit to my old DH bike for a laugh. At that point , I became an E biker (oops!) and the laughs continued every time I rode it. I fitted a dropper post , 11-36 cassette , mid cage der and rode that thing for over 3000ks in the years that followed.
8" of plushness , all the traction and braking you could need , it would climb anything if you could stay on it! That bike would have collected dust in the garage , it turned out to be more fun that I had imagined. Eventually the frame cracked and I suppressed the irresponsible hoon within by purchasing a conventional EMTB. :p

If I was to buy a second E bike right now , a 29" E DH bike would be the business.

A Yeti screamed past on the weekend which was the first Ebike variant of the Yetis I have seen, normally its just the usual Spec and Trek crowd. Such a good looking bike and a young gun piloting it. Certainly carried some speed, climbed like a beast, beating a lot of others coming up the hill.

Didnt pay $250 for this custom title
New Mondraker Dune looks interesting.
I like the aesthetics of their bikes, and I reckon this or the Neat would be a hoot to ride if you had some decent downhills to hit.
My riding is more undulating trail though so would be wasted on me.
I also don’t think they have any e-bikes available locally by the looks!

I like the look of both the new Mondrakers too.

Why are mondraker so into 28 spoke wheels though?
The flagship alloy enduro DT EX1501's have been 28h for 6+ yrs. A lot of wheels come 28h now, suppose it looks better in the weight specs and if built correctly, will be better than a shitty built 32h wheel anyway.

I'm seeing more and more on eebs too... Which usually attract a heavier less finessed crowd.

When I was recently looking at for a new bike there was a mondraker that I almost purchased instead of the ibis. It had a pretty solid suspension spec, meh running gear (but that isn't permanent), and the new frame style looks not too bad. But the 28 hole wheels were a deal breaker. I am not in a position to trust them and selling those on the bike was going to be a challenge.

The Mavic E DeeMax that came on my 22 Mondraker Crafty aren't too bad if you possess a small amount of finesse and mechanical sympathy.....and a spoke key. If however you feel that paying $11k for a bike means you shouldn't have to consider any of the above , you're gonna have a bad time.
