Newly Released eBikes and eComponents General

That's good to (not) hear. NFI which unit I was thinking of (aside from the Pinion MGU obviously, that's a bad one...).
There aren't really any reviews of it just EMBN riding around at a bike show saying you can't hear the motor is all I have seen so the proof will be in the pudding but they make motors for space craft so you would think they know what they are doing. It's certainly powerful and light.

A few new eebs.

Geniux with maxon motor, 14.9kg  christening a new genre of 'UL' placing it under 'SL'. Good to hear Velduro is expanding too.

That has to be an XC build at 14.9kg. 4kg of system weight = 11kg bike!

Not sure, they list it as 'trail' for 14.9kg but the website only has the 160mm 17.9kg enduro model specced. All top spec stuff and its 12,000euro

Would expect trail spec to be around 130-150mm as XC these days is 120mm. Not sure how they will knock off 3kg when the enduro model has no fat left on the spec sheet as built.

I see it is the Dirtlab frame you can buy that direct from them. https://bikelab-inc.com/collections...-kit-incl-maxon-bikedrive-air-s-no-fork-shock $6K

$6k for an ebike frame with motor and battery woooohoooo :p

Still recommending the Amflow, $9k full bike and its no game changer, but its fucking awesome. Add all the bits, its a no brainer.

I would not buy a bike right now without the Avinox system. 100%.

A decent explanation of speed from the NZ'er.

24:20 for the speed chat. Funny he compares it to their 32kph limit, never mind 25kph.

Mahle M40, illegal  850w, 105nm and 534wh battery at 2.5kg penalty.

2.5kg ! Thats the weight weeniening of my Transition Spur, then add a motor and battery to bike.

(illegal means where Bosch have lobbied the UCI to limit any ebike to 750w, excluding all other bikes from competition)

This actually looks like how I would want a eMTB to offer up it's power delivery. Low-down torque and the potential to run a heavier/harder gear at a lower cadence gear seems more practical for techy climbing than "spin-to-win" IMO. Pretty mental what he was able to climb in that vid, obviously a lot of rider skill shining through but the bike wasn't mucking about either. Getting seriously near motorbike capability but in a much more portable/quiet package.

Giant now nudges one out of the ballpark, looks like the whinging Bosch will soon be the only ones racing in the Bosch-UCI 750w limit series.

Reign E+ at 800w and 90nm.

You must be one of the 14 people worldwide that care about ebike racing. 😘

Zero fucks my friend.

Do care and absolutely interested in Bosch's underhand scheming and backdoor approach to UCI to keep themselves relevant and lobbying Governments to legislate 750w, which is right at Bosch max motor power as the maximum power allowed to keep an ebike legal.

Therefore not only excluding the competition from racing, which they are successfully doing but render all >750w bikes, illegal.
