A little bit of a review of the new fox fork. Brace for some revelations:

I am replying to my own post because a reason has been found for electronic shifting: Someone doing their own tuning on their dérailleur set up. When I mentioned this electric shifting stuff, she said that would be "great". She could now look after it rather than bug me with every little misshift. I thought that might be worth the price, and peace and quiet. I am looking into it now. Only need a shifter, derailleur, battery, charger, etc. I will let you know how I go.I have been observing the growth of electronic shifting for a while. I like new tech, I am hard pressed to find any advantage for me over mechanical.
But I suppose many bike consumers just want the latest and greatest
Hubba Hubba!I"m unsure whether this has come up in this thread before:
DVO / WP Cone valve fork and shock(s)
Now available aftermarket, for limited time. I guess until they are sold out

DVO + WP Suspension Collab Puts Moto Damper Tech in LTD MTB Forks & Shocks
DVO’s latest enduro mountain bike suspension is now also available in ultra limited numbers with unique internals developed by motorcycling’s iconic WP Suspension. And at…bikerumor.com
I had wondered whether any MTB suspension makers had considered using the cone valve, and sure enough it has been hiding under our noses as OEM on some European E-bikes.
I don't recall it being hyped as a feature when they were shown off on the GasGas E-bikes.etc..

I was fully prepared to buy one of those Jade X coils until I realised they're only in 205mm trunnion.I"m unsure whether this has come up in this thread before:

I can't see the value in them, I don't race at night and ride 120mins max. China lights do it easily with plenty of lightNew Exposire lights. Now with USB C no more proprietary port. Nice clear screen on the bar lights. Stupid amounts of lumens. Refined reflex tech. Price is eye watering. Will upgrade one day but the price is hard to get past.

New for 2026
Discover Exposure Lights, pioneering LED lighting for over 20 years. Perfected for night riding, our sleek design empowers riders to push boundaries and achieve their ultimate cycling goals.www.exposurelights.com
Had a set of Exposure lights now for 8 years. Zero issues. No wires to batteries to muck around with and great light spread. Solid and dependable - each to their own. I like shiny things…..I can't see the value in them, I don't race at night and ride 120mins max. China lights do it easily with plenty of light
I found a significant difference between the chinese lights and Gloworms when I upgraded. The chinese ones might put out similar light but the optics aren’t as good; much nicer riding with something decent.I can't see the value in them, I don't race at night and ride 120mins max. Only ever had the Exposure Trace/TraceR/Blaze for commuting, great lights and promised myself some sweet Exposure daylight when it was just me to buy for.
Got too many new condition Magicshine for 3 riders here to justify it at this stage as my night rides are few and far between but a 6-Pack/Zenith combo would be lovely jubblynice prices too

Still pretty pricey considering that this is US dollars.Brother was keen for a set of Exposure lights but couldn’t get past the price. Steered him towards Outbound lights and he is super happy with them.
Whoosh! Those prices have jumped. They were a lot cheaper possibly the tariff thing.Still pretty pricey considering that this is US dollars.

I had a Exposure Toro for ages and it was a great light. It was about $380 when I bought it off Chain Reaction but it's about $600 now.
Unfortunately I dropped it on the concrete a while back and it broke something inside and it's now dead.
I've been putting off getting something else for the time being. My AyUps are good for commuting but aren't bright enough for proper MTB single track when things get steep and fast.
Possibly, as even though they are "American Made" the components might come out of China.Whoosh! Those prices have jumped. They were a lot cheaper possibly the tariff thing.
