thoughts on purchasing a second hand one of these??
what should I be looking for when I go have a look at it tomorrow morning?

Dings, scratches that are actually gouges, cracks in paintwork around welds, check headtube for ovalisation (shouldn't be, only seen it on alu bikes).

Standard stuff really.

Also excessive rust in tubes, have a cheeky peek down headtube, seat tube etc.
