If anyones keen from the north coast who has room or wants 2 share driving & expenceses pm me cheers

This sounds like an awesome event, can anyone tell me if WA are going to be doing anything like this?

I have a near new condition 2000 Norco VPS-1 with Monster T's and love riding it, it would be awesome to race it where people don't think your bike is an artefact ha ha!

+30 newbies

How do you feel about +30's new to DH. Got hooked after a trip to thredbo this year and am squeezing the piggy bank for a DH ride. This comp sounds like a fun, relaxed way to enjoy the sport. Family friendly also helps the bank manager come along and enjoy as well.

The early poss mentioned Golburn as the first round. Has this been run? How best to find out about upcoming rounds?

Cheers.

Anyone got some spare giant rubber bands? I may be under 30, but I have a rusty old dual rubber band suspension bike.....

Can't can't to see some pics

Sorry guys, due to lack of interest from riders this will not go ahead this year.::tape: Maybe we can try to organise some vets only racing? What do you think?

Vets only would be awesome.

I would race for sure.

I think its hard to find vets with old bikes. Alot of us are able to afford a good bike.

+1, I'd be in for vets only races for sure.

I have a nice modern bike but can't afford the time and embuggerance to build up an old/vintage MTB to race.

Been thinking about a retro DH class for a while. Thinking it might need to go a little bit older in class than pre 2000, more like 1996??? Maybe even V brakes only, single crown, 6 in travel max??? The bike friendly tracks will be the hardest to sort out, especially if you want to run as a class with current meetings.

To hold a race you need numbers!!!

Its was to hard to find enough people with pre 2000 bikes. What makes you think you will find enough riders with pre 1996 bikes?

Pre 2000 is too similar to bikes today. Run it as a class at current race meetings, extra 10 bucks to enter. That way guys can race both their old and new bikes on the same day. That way it doesn't matter about how many entries you get, it's just another class.

Seriously? Had tripleclamps and discs on bikes in 1995...But really bikes pre-2000 are a quantum leap different to those now. Many light, pedal-able AM bikes have more travel than a typical late 90s DH bike.
