One for the Graf/Stencil/street artists.... Apparently we're up to post #623 now

Ha, yep!

The point when I realised that I hadn't been concentrating on the angles at the the bottom of the piece was when I said 'Fuck this' and lost patience. Should have gone home and come back again the next morning.

Shit, I only just realised that I screwed the 3D up at the base of the H, shit, that was before I lost patience as well! Ha, that's bad. Might even go back and fix that.

Mao it is.

actually, some one here may be able to offer some advice.

When using Ironlak my caps seem to constantly block up, like what seems to be at a disproportionate rate.

I barely have any left but still have a good 8-10 cans that haven't been used yet.

So, first off is there anything that I may be doing wrong, anything that I can do to alleviate this and is there anywhere I can pick up a whole bunch (screw Eckersly's, they charge near a dollar a cap)?

Cheers.

i heard when you have stopped using the can for the time been you can hold it upside down and spray until the spray is clear. its meant to stop your caps clogging.

yeah, that's normally the case but mine clog as I'm using the bastards.

I have to be doing something wrong.

Ironlak's are notorious for clogging caps, my tips are don't change the cap from one can to another, leave it on the same can. If it does clog or start spitting clear it straight away with a fat cap, and sometimes you can clear a clogged cap because its a bit like a bubble that eventually pops inside the stem then starts working again. I think one of the problems is not pushing the caps hard enough and not getting a constant stream of paint through them, or pushing it down at a slight angle. The shaft part is pretty cheap and dodgy compared to molotow caps for example so it doesn't take much to screw them up. That being said molotow skinny caps are too skinny for the thick paint so it will clog them all day.

Or you could just use NY fat caps for everything.

Yeah, I think that's part of the reason. I do push forward on the cap a bit to get a thinner stream. Habit I picked up from using cheap cans years ago, we also used to put paper on the valve/stem like washers to help us regulate the flow of paint.

And I am actually going to start using the NY caps a lot more, I have a habit of just using the regular caps and that's a bit wasteful considering my problem.

Need to find discount supply of Belton and MTN.....

Does Aus not have any decent online stores? I get all my caps and paint from an online store over here, 50c a cap and $7 lak's.

Just a quick sketch - constructive criticism anyone?

Still got a lot of practice required but I learned a few things on this one:

- Fuck working with yellow paint and fuck Ironlak in general. That shit is USD9 a can here and the yellow is more watery than my piss, I had 2 cans with no pressure at all and the colours vary regardless if it says it's the same colour on the can.

- Buy a step ladder

- wear sun block. Could fry an egg on the back of my neck

that N is borked out to fuck....

Told ya painting in the shade is better:02.47-tranquillity:
My neck and ears got wrecked....I used to be immune to sunburn! Seriously would only ever get it on my cheeks or nose, but these days not even my arms or legs are safe!

Anyways...

Tried my first blockbuster....., should have bought the tape measure with me! borked out on the F, left bars of the S don't match up as I ran out of orange, a bunch of fill doesn't match the lean of the letters and some of the 3D is out of whack.

Fuck a straight line.
