I was promised a refund on the 29/12/16, still waiting for it to show up on my card. Time to send another email I think. Was for an order placed early November that never arrived. My only other order from them (in October) arrived as expected, but I think the shipping company they use is unreliable.
Still no refund despite multiple promises that it will be processed by their accounts department. Have just sent an email threatening a credit card chargeback. Strike Merlin off my trusted retailers list.

Anyone know whats up with The Bicycle Store? (https://www.bicyclestore.com.au/)
I ordered ten days ago and just today they responded to my email form last week saying the items might not be in stock but not confirming anything.
They have no phone number listed and seem to take ages to respond to emails.
I haven't dealt with them in a while but yeah, they don't like returning emails when there is a problem.

BTW here's the number.

Try this number
It's the same Business, same ABN and address.

HSBC came through with the chargeback. I've had no further communication from Merlin - pretty disappointing on their part.

Yeah I realised that also and sent the bloke a PM. There is a bit of funny business going on there because it's not registered to the other ABN.

One good experience - rang to see if items in stock & could buy there, yes, so drove to office because I happen to live in Melb.

One bad experience - bought item online (listed as 'in stock') actually out of stock, took frikken ages and several phone calls and emails and ages waiting before item finally turned up.

Lesson, maybe don't bother buying from them unless you live locally and can be bothered ringing to check stock, (and that you want to rock up and pay) and driving there to pay & take away.

I'll just add another good experience for Abbotsford Cycles in Richmond, Vic.. Bought a Union spoke key, it was sent quickly and packed well.

Just received an order for Ubyk

They send the wrong colour seat clamp and only one of the 2 chainrings that I ordered

Will see how they deal with it

They seem pretty hit and miss, I've them before with no issues, but others have had different experiences

I noticed a few +reps for hibike. Has anyone purchased a frame (or know anyone who has) from them? Not necessarily going to but they reckon they will supply a Bronson AL frame with shock and fork (Pike) for $2500 AUD...

I had a fully purchased bike that I cancelled with them (production delay that had me ordered last October and still unavailble in March of this year). I've used them multiple times over the past three or so years with Forks, Shocks, Wheels and general bits and peices and they've been fantastic with service. Would happily trust them to ship a bike, had it not been for a production delay I'd be riding one now.

I ordered some Stan's mark3 flow rims from them and found them to be good. Only thing I would knock them on, is they are slow to process the order but for the price it's not really a major issue.

Thanks guys, appreciate the feedback!

has some good things to say
For reasons that probably aren't relevant to a mountain bike forum I've had need to purchase a wheel from www.hollandbikeshop.com and I'd be happy to do so again. The plus side for many is that geoblocking of some popular brands doesn't seem to be a thing. And the prices are quite good!

Just a bit of feedback on Hibike

Placed an order in May and some stuff was on back-order and took ages (longer than they estimated) to be in stock. I received the parcel the other day and its officially the worst packed parcel I have ever got. Everything was just chucked in a box, Stans, grease, oil etc. Little pieces are missing from the order as they probably just fell out of the box. To make matters worse they didn't post the tyres that I ordered. I've used them a couple of times, but probably not again.

On a positive note, I ordered some stuff from Amazon and it never arrived and was returned damaged to Amazon. I was annoyed as the price for the product had doubled! Ordered a similar product for a little bit more than I originally paid and got it sent express (extra $50) as I needed it quickly due to the return parcel delay. After a couple of short emails, Amazon refunded the difference in purchase price from the original item and completely refunded the express postage. Pretty happy with that!
