I tend to use ibuprofen, and Mersyndol, and fish oil, and Glutamate.
Don't know which one works, but one of them is great.

Does quite well at reducing swelling and relieving joint and muscle aches and pains. I haven't found any other gel quite as effective. Only issue I have is it's not meant for humans. Meh!
After an injury whatever anti-inflammatory I can lay my hands on, though the wife usually has to hassle me to take anything. I've been lucky, with some back pain being my only ongoing issue. I'll be 40 this year.
I think the men in white suits with their little jars are going to be testing the vets and masters categories when you all line up for your next race with all this drug taking going on......
After having a shoulder reconstructed i use anti inflamatory/muscle relaxants intermitently and probably will for the rest of my days. Just depends on how much i agrivate it as to the frequency of the dosage. And its a strong one by prescription only. Other than that i find a good session at the local watering hole does wonders for the aches and pains for at least the first 24 hours, after that is a whole other story.
