Only a few weeks ago, late at night... a passing cyclist screamed out " Sparta" at the overtaking point the fat arsed old pig screamed "tonight we dine in hell"

took the old f*ck a few days to realise the fellow cyclist was screaming Strava

Strava Holes.....

STRAVA RUN!!!.jpg

Use it for both the roadie & mtb. Dont care much for KOMs, but yse ut as a measure if my own state of play.

I use it every ride on the mobile phone, tucked away in the back pack, just to gauge my own distance for the week and as a odometer for the bike & servicing.

Club racing or organised events are probably our best measure.

At our club races around 40% use Strava on average, that going by entries v's how many peeps I rode with. This would be skewed toward the demographic more likely to use strava, so I reckon no more than 30% of the general public at best.

I use it on road and dirt to beat people without getting in trouble for riding with a orange and white stick.

Tracking k's is a useful secondary output.

I basically do the same.
Allows to keep track of number of Ks for the year, elevation / climbing stats etc.
It also has a function where you can set up several bikes and it tracks the Ks on each type ie I have it set up for All mountain, Cross country and road bike. I can judge then when they need servicing and how long the components are lasting.

I will admit that I do check some times to see if I am improving or just getting fat and slow as the year goes on.

Remind me again why you use Runkeeper?
Because this proves my point. You don't need strava to log your distances and elevation. I have friends who say they hate strava and only use it for this...so I suggest runkeeper or any of the other alternatives....but then they can't compare directly to others times. If you want to do it, do it...just be honest about why you do

Enough trolling. To be honest, I have absolutely nothing against strava.

Just the flogs who use it.

Lies. KOM's are all about the straight lines.

Yep... it blows me away that the straight liners, will purposely do away with the fun bits of the ride... the corners, just so they can beat some other Strava knobhead. WTF...
