Big Polo service (cam chain @ 200k 'cause grrrr on startup) and VW had it three days (!) to execute. Anyway, second night I demanded a loaner so they giveth me the fat pig. Not even slightly interested in it, EPAS plus fat and general fatness.

Why the fuck are cars growing in size like this?

Well the Polo grew to the size of the Golf so they introduced the Lupo which grew to the size of the Polo so they introduced the Up which....

Sale on at super cheap on Saturday, beauty stock up on a couple of bottles of the usually not cheap Shell Helix Ultra (which I use in both cars). Forgot I’d already done that 6 months ago... doh. So that’s me sorted for oil for the next couple of years at least!!!

Funny about that. I have a stash of oil bought for the Megane at various Supercheap sales. Then the Megane died in the hail.

Luckily the XR4 commuter hack I bought will take it :)

You need a top right engine mount!
Don’t they all ;)

Mounts aren’t great, I’ve got a fairly long list of stuff to address on the car just Canberra winter busts enthusiasm and once that’s done I’ll have a better idea of how urgently I need to think about mounts.

I do have the Ford spacer blocks for the rear stubs to go in and I do recall seeing a wedge spacer available for some Renault models so not all are welded up - Might have been the Meg3 though.

I can make you a rh top mount, you can still get the others. I have now made about 20! And half a dozen XR5 mounts.

I’m interested - got any pics? Are you doing more of a “hard” mount for competition use or something that’s able to be more OEM?

I’m on the OEM side of the line, have to commute in this thing :)

Thatll be Clio wedges, they had bolt on hubs like the fiesta.
