You can either get a chrome finish done on alloys, or a there are chrome bars around made for cruisers.
There'd have to be some common way of doing chrome old style bars for a classic bike, surely? Even if it's steel bars and send them to chroming.

Oh and clockworked - Those little 250's can go great. Geared down especially - though highway work needs to be taken into account with the gearing. We did pipe/susp/gearing on a DR250 and it was a top bike - did everything and totally bulletproof. TTR250 is pretty similar.
