Pump Track Bike Setup

I know pump tracks have lost a bit of popularity in Australia lately, but this guide may still help someone wanting to build or change their current bike to suit the pump track.

Pump Track Bike Setup

It covers the basic changes you can make such as:

  • Dropping your saddle
  • Locking out your rear suspension
  • Adding air to your forks and tyres

As well as purchases that can make it a lot more fun:

  • Using the right frame
  • Shortening your stem
  • Running a simpler drivetrain

Does anyone on Rotorburn have a purpose build pump track bike? I've seen a fair few light 4x bikes around which are basically the same. Post 'em up!

Does it need to be an MTB? I'm about to get a 24" bmx bike for stuff including pump tracks

24" is killer on the pump track. It's when you start going larger than 26" that it gets a lot harder to corner. 20" on a pump track is a blast!

Just depends if you're using it for training for MTB or just having fun.
