I think I already know the answer to this but I might as well ask,

I've got an xxtension xplore frame. Currently got a fox 36 on it. Was wanting to swap it out for a lyrik owned by a friend. Problem is its off of a remedy so tis got a tapered steerer I'm pretty sure.

Basically, can I fit a tapered steerer into a non tapered head tube? I'm betting no cause obviously it wouldnt go in all the way?

square peg, round hole. or rather large peg, small hole. Unless your frame has a straight 1.5 headtube with reducer headset??

Measure the internal diameter of your bikes head tube. If it's 44mm then you can get a special headset from nukeproof that allows you to do just what you're suggesting. I use one with my corsair marque and a tapered revelation. Works great but it does add a bit to your stack hight as the lower bearing sits in a cup outside of the headtube.

chris King also do a headset that will allow you to run tapered in non tapered headtube so long as the OD is 44mm

got one in stock
