Red Bull Hardline

Just watched it. Couple of takeaways.

  • A bit of a "DUH" comment but how quiet is that Zerode G3
  • Hardline Wales prove that you don't need heaps of different tracks to make the World Cup riders excited to ride. Just proper tech. And good commentary.
  • Ronan is going to have a massive influence on the 2024 overall (maybe even win it).

As an aside, I spotted a rider sporting a Zerode t-shirt at the Smithfield Woolies, it was George Chapman. I asked him what it's like to ride a gearbox bike downhill and he said he could never go back to normal gears. He described how the bike feels more planted, predictable and consistent, as well as being very quiet!

Don’t really follow racing and had to google what Hardline is. I have some questions.

What are the technical puzzles? Do they stop mid-run to solve some stuff? Are we talking jigsaws, rubicks cube, or some sort of riddle?

Super pumped to see how this goes down. The track looks absolutely insane. Hoping one of the Aussies can take this home this year. Really keen to see what Sam Hill can do.

Probably more excited to see Moi Moi and Wyn TV highlights 🤣

Can't help but feel this is a two-horse race between Ronan & Jackson.

Would love to see Erice take the win for the women, think this course could get in Vali's head

Just watched a couple of the track walks (TB and Matt Jones), then TB's first hits video that just dropped.

The best thing about these videos is the stoke that all the riders have. It so evident on their faces and the way they are all interacting and having a blast. Different age gaps, different disciplines (freeriders and racers). Everyone is just fkn stoked as.

This is a part of DH racing that WB/UCI will never be able to replicate.

Yeah, the track walks are pretty cool to watch.
