Red Bull Hardline

Man, that’s disappointing.😢
Apparently the clay after the container drop was like ice. They had tarps out and blow torches going but couldn’t dry it out to be safe.
We’ve had weeks of great weather and it couldn’t hold out just one more day.
Really feel for the riders and the Maydena crew.
Sorry but they get a LOT of money for the event.
How about the ticket holders?

Some interesting seeding results!!

LMS and Booker pehaps had something go awry ? They seem too far back to me ; Luca and Jackson very surprising but maybe they are holding their cards close to their chests. Roy Brosnan still a threat and I wonder if Gwin has 6 seconds up his sleeve as well.

Don't know what happened to Bulldog, hope he didn't have a stacker

Good to see at least 2 girls make the final run - insane riding 💪

Can't find any video footage as yet
As said, LMS crashed on whoops, Booker crashed twice I think, finish line and somewhere else? Bulldog fought the hill and couldn't finish but i saw him riding today so he is all good. Jackson was definitely sandbagging, would be spewing today.

Pretty happy I was there yesterday to see some riding. The clay down the bottom section today was lethal to walk down let alone ride. We walked down the service road at the end from the container drop and within 10 meters had a kilo of mud sticking to boot soles.

I bet it cost a LOT to run the event too. It's an outdoor sport, weather happens sometimes.
Sure so sort of refund could be done, but there's not much else you can do about the racing. They are on the limit in the dry, it wouldn't have been possible in the wet. Apparently the motorway section was the worst bit.

Failed to rustle up the enthusiasm to deal with crowds this year, but from the last two outings there can confirm that would be rather "interesting" in the wet... Its hard enough crawling up those hills on foot in the dry!!

Just saw bulldogs crash, absolutely brutal.

I must shout out all of the young aussie riders, they were hooking.

It is seriously scary seeing how skillful these young riders are. The future of Aussie DH looks to be in good hands. Carter Sloan was really really impressive.

Congrats to Asa, he was quiet all week, you knew he was seriously amped for it.

The DH season is going to be absolutely mega.

I reckon awarding a result based on seeding runs is pretty ordinary. For something that isn't a series as such, do we really care? Regardless of how it finished, the girls won the event by a million miles.
I've been watching some of Mikayla Parton's videos and I was pretty impressed how she took her time and picked off one feature at a time, and overcome the fact that she hadn't hit anything near a big before.

This was the last year of the Hardline funding agreement with the state government so potentially not having the option of coming back next year might have encouraged the decision somewhat. And with the stadium sucking up all government spending for the next billion years it's far from a certainty that there will be a 2027 Hardline.

Still not convinced the sportballs arena will get built - my guess is they'll blow another hundred mill on assorted stuff ups and false starts, and a new government will eventually can it to stem losses.

Good odds IMO. Fritter away 10's of millions on "consultancy fees" and "environmental assessments" (disguised 'jobs-for-the-boys') and then produce absolutely nothing...

Getting these reports is a way to both kick the can down the road and look after the boys.
I did once work as a contaminated land remediation auditor back in the day - was a profitable industry to be in, and the site there is VERY contaminated! The novelty of corporate consulting life wore off pretty fast though, although my mortgage wishes I'd stayed in it...
Bet u dont miss being the meat in the sandwich between council, EPA, and the client 😆

I think I'll be dead by the time they finish building it and even then they'll f##K it up like everything else they build. Here's the lattest thing they f###ked up. Bridgewater bridge.

Why am i not surprised... Its a pretty shit bridge. I kept expecting to hear when they were going to go back and lay the final road surface - the existing temporary one works for now, but its bouncy af and a generally shit look. But no, apparently they signed off on that as good to go....
