the disc is rubbin quite a bit on the pad, may as well spend 2 bucks on a bucket of shims and shim it out.

If you do happen to shim it over too far (and you can't find a happy medium), try leaving it shimmed over too far and putting a tiny spacer on the axle between the hub and the dropout... there are endless things you can do with shims.
