Serious Q regarding QLD postage.

More relating to FacePalm than Farkin, but why do so many QLDers refuse to post items they are selling? I run into it all the time, not just on the QLD trader pages, but Aus wide ones. Dunndog suggested to me that it's maybe too far to a PO, but most of these I see are in major towns or Brissy (and if you're that far out, who's driving hours for s/h shite anyway)
Current one I just encountered, selling 2 maxxis tyres (near brissy cbd) for $70 that retail online, delivered free, for $86. Doesn't specific pickup, so I offer him $80 delivered, based on a 2kg prepaid bag costing about $12...."Pick up only", he says.

I almost never encounter people unwilling to post in other states...what am I missing, you lazy Flog's? You'd rather deal with people scouting your house and bikes to save 5 minutes at the PO?

I'd never meet someone at my house, I'd give them a time and place to pick up from, and it's usually my work, and I own nothing there and it has cameras. Not my issue.

I personally work 2am-12pm, so I CBF to post things. How about you just drive to pick up ya lazy meatsack. :thumb:

Quicker to go to PO than waste time meeting people.
And anecdotally, yeah, it's a QLD thing...
 
Partly that there's all these southern wannabes on the qld fb page (see items all the time in SA or Vic that are pickup only)
Partly that Aus Post are a bunch of useless fts. Perhaps our contractors are worse than down south

Yours are better. Can get stuff from interstate much faster than from Melbourne
 
Depending where you live and even in the city getting to the post office can be an effort in itself because of traffic and the waiting queues, the Bossman will not be happy when you come back from a late lunch. You probably got a better chance of getting there on the weekends but most people ride or spend time with their families. Most stuff that's priced right sells pretty quick anyway and for the extra couple of dollars not worth the stuffing around.

You are a total idiot to steal from a mountainbiker here because most of us are connected through clubs or rider groups, not saying it doesn't happen but it's not often. Most people are trust worthy but if I don't know them or know of them, normally they don't go past the front door anyway.

Nah, they're shit everywhere. I've been waiting 5 days for documents to arrive express post and they're coming from a whole 2hrs away....
