Hi.
I'm just looking at buying a road bike and was wondering if anyone can help me out. One of the bikes I'm looking at has Ultegra 6600 group set and the other has 6650. I've done a Google search but can't seem to fine an explanation of the difference.
Can anyone enlighten me?
Cheers.

Guessing here, but i think 6650 may just mean compact crankset, meansing 50 tooth big ring, and 34 small ring, vs. the standard/tradiation 53/39.

I dont believe there is a 6650 rear derailleur for instance, its all just 6600, even if they say 6650 groupset. So yeah, my money is on the crankset/chain ring difference.

I know this isnt what you asked, but you realise 6600 is one generation old now? 6700 goes dirt cheap (comparatively) these days.

Shimano Techdocs

This is the Shimano technical website for all their products on the market. It's pretty interesting.

The only reference to 6650 is front crankset. No rear or front derailleurs, cassettes, chains shifters etc, just cranks.
