Well i usually agree with lupine but not this time. I've used an Ultegra(2 actually) on 11-32 cassettes for ages without a single problem. It's all about the adjustment IMO.
The mechanism CAN move sufficiently to cover that range and the worst that'll happen is you might stretch the tension spring a bit if you tend to ride aropund and jump etc in 1st gear.
