Click on the profile name of the person you want to message and you'll go to their profile page.
There's a bunch of options like Follow and Ignore, and next to those is one called Start Conversation.

First you'll need a suitably sized catapult, my personal favourite is the medieval trebuchet, then you take your PM (ScoMo would be a great start) and place them inside the sling and press "Send".
