Snakes

I'm always surprised how few snakes you see at Youies. Seems like ideal habitat for them. Hope the is alright. The little ones are pretty fricken quick when they need to be so probably launched itself of into the undergrowth. As if seeing a snake on the trail isn't enough to get your heart racing, seeing one at that point and negotiating the steps/corners would be doubling-down on the raised heart rate effect!
Yeah I'm surprised too.

You know how when you walk through a spider web you feel like you have a spider crawling on you all day....? (or at least I do).

I have the itches right now. Have checked my legs about 5 times each 🤣

First run of the day, I'm not going home until I've done at least 3.

Met a pretty fat and very shiny black Tiger on the trails yesterday. I was going slowly and saw him in time to screech to a halt, where we spent a few seconds looking at each other before he casually pulled back into the bush and wandered off. All pretty chill. Very very shiny!

Am I just becoming complacent or do tiger snakes seem to be very chill?

They generally are. You have stand on one or hassle it before they’ll get shitty, but as a rule they don’t care for us too much and will exit stage left.

It’s the browns that will fuck you up for the fun of it…

I was told by a snake expert once that Tigers have pretty terrible vision beyond more than a couple of metres, so as long as they have space to move away they're fine.

Browns have better vision, so can be better tuned in if you're getting a bit close. They don't snot you for fun, and will scarper if there's space open for them.
