Does anyone know whether a SRAM Rival derailleur (chainline 44.5mm?) is adjustable enough / has a wide enough range of movement / whatever to properly shift a SRAM X7 2x10 crankset (49.5mm?) underneath it.
Reason: I'm wondering how to get lower the gearing on a road bike and was thinking about the smaller front chainrings of a MTB crank. EG, swap out the factory FSA Gossamer crankset (with Megaexo external BB) with a SRAM X7 double crankset.
Alternatively, how about shifting the cranks a couple of mm to the left by swapping a space from the drive to non-drive side? Enough thread on the non-drive side cup to get away with it? Would my body care about cranks improperly spaced by a couple of mm?
I believe the BB should fit the same, but anyone confirm or have any other issues i've missed?
