Stem length advice for a new age steel hardtail beast

Hey guys,

With the demise of my dear old Giant Anthem, I've sold off the parts and have started building a hardcore steel HT. The Frame is a 27.5+ with a longish TT and 65 deg headtube. I'm getting a set of Chromag fubars 800mm bars but not sure whether to stick with a 50mm stem or go down to a 35. I'm running 780/50 on my trail bike which is probably 20mm shorter in the top tube. Waddaya reckon?

If sticking with 800 then yeah 35. Can't speak for others but I've found stem/bar changes to be ~2.5:1, based on me. So a bar length change of 2.5cm would require a stem length change of 1cm. See how you go even with a 35 stem. You can adjust seat rails a bit too remember, shifting the whole cockpit forwards or backwards a smidge if you don't get it right straight away, and crc is only a week away!
