Suspension Setup Sag/Travel

That's the best post this week.

Trying to reduce the thump of big hits. It's a 100mm SiD so there's a limit to what I'll achieve.

I'm not sure we have the same definition of big hits...but!

On my short travel forks I run minimal sag, like 10-15%. I think you will need to sacrifice some fine bu.p for a better result on the big hits. Maybe not as much as I do. Have you tried something like 20-25% sag with a good dose of compression? You could also look at running a heavier oil than spec in your compression dampener as a way of slowing the big hits down. But you may blow something.

Taking the spacer out may give you a slightly longer stroke before the big thump occurs. But if you are bottoming out the fork, we'll you are bottoming g out the fork.

Try speeding g the rebound up as well.

I have tried, but there is something unique to Wensleydale style cheddar that I just can't enjoy.

Finally serviced my Dorado, approximately 1650km and loosely 105hrs on it. Didn't feel it needed serviced but I usually do a lower leg on fork with half the running time, It was clean as a fucking whistle inside, very surprised.

A bit of toing and froing to the computer as my cheap tablet doesn't pick up the WiFi down in my concrete bunker, checking torque and oil levels.

Took 2.5hrs as it was like servicing 2 forks that I had never seen before.

Copied these 2 vids. Motorex racing 2.5 in the damper leg, Motorex Supergliss 68k on the rings and 35ml on top of the air spring.

Feels great on a garage bump test. Also surprising is that Argotal supersoft is also about 1800km old, side knobs just starting to show wear now but there is a few rides left on it yet.

Out of interest, does that 1,800km include any road or pavement riding?

That's pretty good going then!

It's great.
I had that issue with the rear sidewall/bead and fitted the new spare rear the same weekend as the fork.
So the soft rear has around 1650km on it, the same as the fork.

The tread looks good too but the sidewalls are rock rubbed till the thread lines are visible, nearly looks fluffy. Only the outside layer though.

Never had a puncture or plugged either of them so I know what they have put up with.

I have the 5 day Fat Tyre Festival in two weeks and undecided if I fit the new ones or leave these on.
