So I snapped off my left hand (rear) brake lever the other day. Pushy's has right-hand lever assemblies for less than $50, but are sold out of left hand levers. Same story everywhere else I've looked. So, can I swap the lever blade from a RH lever assembly to the LH? I've had a very cursory look and couldn't figure out how the pivot could be disassembled.

I would have thought you could but two different assemblies are called up in the parts list. I can't see which other parts would be handed so I am going to say the left and right hand levers are different.

I just had a good long look at my 9000s which Shimano also say are handed and damned if I can see any difference. I guess pull the two levers off and compare the the broken one with the good one.
However the earlier XTs are shown as interchangeable so there must be something?
