Plenty of really good helmets out there, probably not much difference protection wise (if any) between mid range and premium priced helmets apart from little details that are nice to have and in my experience, usually a bit better quality finish, materials and in-hand feel.

I still have my 3yr old TLD A2 and now 3.5yr old A3, both in non crashed condition, they just get a bit used looking and the liners look average, you also get a bit fed up looking at the same one year after year.

I posted a thread on MTBR a couple of months back seeing if anyone had heard anything from TLD on a possible A4 coming as it was due, going on my calcs ;)

A1 released Jan 2013
A2 released Feb 2017
A3 released Mar 2021
........................ Apr 2025, where's the A4 ?

4 yrs between releases so far.

Ended up emailing TLD directly and asked, they said if there was going to be one, it would be 2027, so I'm definitely due one before then. Shortlist was the Smith Forefront 3 and the Kortal Race.

Luckily I don't crash much these days either.... Nek minnit, crashes and fucks helmet 2 weeks in and back on with the old A3 🤣
 
How the fuck do these people even find their way to work each day.

Size MED as we know it, scrubbed from history, size 55-58cm head, bad luck.

5 emails back and forward with pictures to help them correct the listing with no gain for me, now it still the same but even more confusing.

Cant help stupid.

I have to agree with that - it puts their higher pricing into contrast. If you think you'll need help then pony up and spend the extra $$ with them.

No, I don't even know anyone with one or anywhere local that sells them. Just taking a punt on size and fit and happy to pay return shipping if it doesn't suit.

Not urgently needing a helmet either, gave the A3 liner a wash and scrubbed the dust off the helmet, its got another good year in it 🤣

Took me quite a few years to work out TLD fitted my noggin, might end up trying a few to work out a new brand.

Not the POC anyway. My head is 58.5 - 59cm, I usually wear a XL/2XL TLD for 60-63cm as it has really thick padding and it fits snug.

The large Kortal is 59-62cm, which can nearly spin around on my shaven dome.

I've sent Leatt a message asking if a 59cm head should go the M 55-59 or the L 59-63.

Depending on the return policy, you could get both and send the one that doesn't fit back (or both)
I have done this with boots.

Yes, usually... I have a few pair of ON shoes, they'll express them out to you and pay return if you don't want them. If its the wrong size (or faulty probably), the return slip is express back and the new size expressed out. Very pleasing.
