The Brig

Keen to hear your thoughts
Wheels arrived at long last. They took longer than expected to resolve strength testing of the layup for the 27.5.

In fairness to them they kept me updated and included valves, grips, tape and airfreighted my rim earlier than the main batch of 27.5s (which I'd expect should follow by boat in a couple of weeks) as I'd approached them early to make use of the code slv EOFY offer as a preorder and have been waiting awhile.

The wheels are a bargain if you make use of this offer (even just to sell the brakes on fb marketplace to reduce the wheel cost).

Wont be able to fit them till this weekend but quality and build looks good. Hubs spin freely and smoothly and are moderate in noise.

I went with mullet, prodigy enduro, 28/32H, Project 321, boost F&R, xd driver, bladed ultralite spokes.

Weights confirmed via parktool scale @ 810g front and 1050g rear incl. tape and valves.

Will update further once I've mounted and riden them! Will be going on an SC Vala C GX AXS with DD Assegai and DHRII combo

eBike section needs a PYR, stat!
*shrug* its mostly stock - just carbon bars, wheels and the new kiox screen. Doesn't feel PYR worthy.

Decided im not a fan of the radial Schwalbes so looking forward to bring back on DDs. Radials are finicky on perfect pressures - super draggy and rim ding prone if even slightly lower than ideal

So quick update on the wheels;

Tyres mounted up nicely. Only needed a track pump to seat, no need for a lever to get the tyre on (but pretty tight - reasuringly so) and held air perfectly overnight.

Hubs are nice. I dig the centrelock to 6 bolt adapters. Much smoother rolling than the crappy e13 ones that came stock on the Vala and better than the DT 240 I had prior to that. High engagement not really noticeable on the Vala due to the way the motor disengages.

Only 1 ride in on them and have been off the bike for about 6 weeks due to injury so took it easy, but rims feel good. Didn't notice any harshness like my previous LB EN930 that were overly deep in section. 0 weird noises from the spokes and they spin nice and true so build seems good.

Will update further once ive given them a few proper thrashings at silvan/redhill etc.

Just my 2 cents on The Brig… ordered a XO derailleur and XX1 chain and was delivered speedy (about a week). Everything was mint and works perfect but there was no SRAM packaging, instructions, warranty info, etc… just the parts bubble wrapped and boxed. I’m cool with that personally but yeah it tends to make me lean towards ‘grey’ imports. For the price I’m not complaining. Happy customer!

It’s definitely grey import. If you send that part off to SRAM for warranty I think you’ll get confirmation. Warranty will need to be back through The Brig and I suspect just a loss for them.

So for a derailleur that’s cool.

Would I buy my Zeb from them? Probably not just in case they don’t exist when I need support.

I considered buying a Vivid Air from them for the Vala as was having an issue with the Float X. They said Rockshox would warrant it locally
