The dirtiest bird...Ibis Ripmo AF

pink poodle

ここには見るべきものは何もありません
I have realised that despite owning this bike for a while, I hadn't set up a PYR. So here it is. Not only is this one of the least attractive bikes I have owned, it is also the least customised and my first real diversion from 26 inch wheels. So it has been an interesting adventure.

I don't seem to have any photos of the bike at the moment, but I've posted before so use your imagination.

Currently the bike is standard spec from when I purchased it except:
- eastern composite pedals
- dmr grips.

I have some upgrades planned, it has just taken close to a year to get around to it. What's planned? Well...
- 165mm shimano saint crank
- 34t ring (hopefully it fits!)
- shimano saint chain guide
- renthal fat bar (black) cut to 750mm with a 40mm rise
- shimano xt brakes or TRP slate t4 brakes

I was considering going all in on some purple with grups, pedals, and chain ring. But I couldn't find the purple raceface chain ring I am sure I have. So this is on hold until the chain ring turns up.

I guess I'll add some photos when I find them.

mint bike - stoked af with mine. You mighta seen the few hundred page Ripmo AF thread over at MTBR, worth a read if you haven’t. Amongst all the gushing there are a few useful setup tips I found useful. As a 95kg rider I’ve found the Cascade link made a real difference getting it to ride higher in the travel and with a bit of fine tuning it’s getting easier to get off the ground. TF for that because it was not cheap.

I have been watching your pyr. I'm not in a rush to get thr cascade link. I've barely ridden this thing, sad face. Once I get this parts swap done I will give it some steam for a bit. It is a surprisingly nimble and fun bike. But then I take the scout or Rook out for some DJ lving and remember what nikble actually is...

I’m anything but nimble so I’d probably feel like those bikes wanna kill me 🤣
Lighter riders don’t seem to have the issues that the Cascade link helps with so you’ll probably be just fine without it.

Oh there is a lot of poodle to go around. I haven't been on the scales since I left Japan in march, but I was low 90s then from months of snowboarding. I'm likely 90 to 95 at the moment. Maybe I'll find some scales. I'd hate to be deluded!

By popular demand, but well after interest had died off...about 1 year after purchase and still barely ridden, I give you...

On the day of pick up

A few days later when I actualised the colour scheme and almost instantly wanted purple instead of blue.
