That "word" had to be one of my biggest big bears working on Commonwealth websites! Do you mean knowledge? Understanding? Findings? Outcomes? And so on...no I mean learnings. Ummmm you know that isn't really a word right? And from the power of corporate ignorance it was born. Then there was the time we changed our style guide to accept American spelling of most words with a surplus E in them (lodgement - lodgment) because people didn't know how to change the spell check settings in word. The only time I've been told to drop E in the workplace!


I am disappointed with the outcome of the referendum. I am also investing in foil futures, that market has real growth potential.

If you really wanted something in the constitution it would have been an easy yes if it was just to recognize first nations people as first nations people and to recognize the hurt that was inflicted both during colonization and during the stolen generation thing but nah you kept pushing for an uncosted body.

The process that was started by the previous government who dumped it when the answer they didn't like came out to a referendum. Albo was just the messenger.

I'm always amazed at how Labor manages to sabotage itself.

They could have legislated a Voice easily enough and left the referendum to the next election. They could have compromised with the Coalition to make it bipartisan. These two steps would have made it a slam dunk.

Personally I'm surprised the No vote was so across the board. I was expecting NSW, Vic, and even Tas to vote Yes.

This will be a pyrrhic victory for the LNP though. If those teal seats weren't lost for a generation before, they are now. I still expect the LNP to spend a couple more terms in the wilderness, and I will be partaking in the bloodletting at the state level. The Nationals may find that the coalition agreement gets torn up and Liberals start putting up candidates in every seat...

like what, building an AFL Stadium? AFAIK we're doing not a solitary thing. I believe even our premier supported the yes vote, but of course we couldn't escape our ingrained backwards racism and 2/3 of people voted no.

So why isn't the gap closing at the planned rate and why do most of the problems still exist at the scale they have for decades? Seems to me that something has to change and this might have been a useful step.
