The Fixie Thread

Do 22.2 clamp diameter flat bars exist? Links to where i could purchase said bars would be much appreciated please!

^Yup. My brother runs them with a BMX stem. They'll be high rise style from a racing BMX or fixed freestyle.

or Saint Cloud
or Gear Brisbane

Thanks mate, it was a flat bar i was after though. I mustn't of looked very hard on gears website, i just noticed they do have 22.2 flat bars but it only shows them in black and i was after silver. So as it stands still on the lookout, greatly appreciated for anybody who can help!

Just get yourself some ovencleaner, wet n dry and autosol. Silver bars. Just like that.

Get a piece of alluminium/steel pipe in 22.2mm?

Does it have to be 22.2, because here's a sexy trolley pole in the wrong size: http://www.tracksupermarket.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=83&products_id=257&zenid=i0hmmjgpdlq5f8rsdlt47ed757

Global Gutz comes to Melburn. Don't need to ride a fixie but people post alley cat races here so thought you might be interested.

New single speed / tracker project. An 91' specialized epic allez frame, with some period zipp 440 and roval front wheel. Should make a decent commuter when i get some more parts.

Helmet hair: How do you fix it?

My Fox Flux imprints it's shaped exactly in my hair (ridges, etc.) after een a short ride. Don't want to go super short and don't want to walk around with the Himalayas on my head. Ruffling it rarely works.

You could wear a cycling cap or head warmer (they're like a really thin breathable beanie for cycling) underneath? That'd partially solve it.

EDIT: anyone after a cheap complete fixed gear? Got my red khs flite 100 with chrome soma track forks for sale, looking for $450. Will include drops and risers, for track or street.

Considering you can buy a new one for 600 bucks these days you may wish to knock that price down a tad. Chuck it up on Fixed.org.au if you want it gone pretty quick.

I've never owned a road bike, and I'm currently on my first mountain bike build. I'm really enjoying building the bike, was thinking of a fixie for my next project.

Just out of curiosity how much would it cost to build up a fixie?

What kind of frames are worth saving from the savers or ebay?

hey chaps.

been riding fixed brakeless for...lets say 4 years and love it, but starting to notice its really stuffing my back. only ride about 15km a day but need to sort something out.

First up i was thinking my frame is a little small. im 6"2 and i think its a 55cm frame. Next i was thinking running a brake and shock horror non fixed. This thinking is making me very sad.

Any ideas guys? i have seen a few bikes getting around with a internal rear brake hub. certainly keeps the bike looking smooth. what u think guys?

I think i need a more upright position and less strain in general. ive even been thinking about recumberant bikes. kill me now!

Hey,

I am looking for a single speed conversion kit with gold or brass bling spacers, would anyone happen to know of any options i could use?

Cheers :)
