I read an article talking about the runaway success of Deadpool, and how it may cause a lot more studios to rethink their reluctance to release R rated movies. Their assumption has always been with the reduced pool of people who can watch it it's harder to make money. Turns out if you don't just churn out the same generic crap movie after movie you can also make money that way! Who'd have thought it.I loved every minute of it. But then I'm a deadpool fangirl, it was going to be awesome regardless of bad it was. My kids are mad keen to watch it, but I won't let them near my comics, let alone the movie. It's about as inappropriate for kids as a non-european movie gets, and the studios should be proud of themselves for not pg13ing it
Profitability isn't hurt when you make it with the cash from your change jar, either. Hopefully it might cause a rethink of the blockbuster mentality too. Shows you don't need huge budgets, fuck off effects and a list casts, when you have a decent story, a passion and sense of humour for the material.I read an article talking about the runaway success of Deadpool, and how it may cause a lot more studios to rethink their reluctance to release R rated movies. i loved the way it was a piss-take on the Marvel movies from the get-go. I think it's going to be my favourite movie ever, surpassing Blade Runner. My Hubs loves the whole comic-book-to-movie thing, he's slowly converting me....Deadpool might actually tip the balance.I loved every minute of it. Saw it on a flight. Wouldn't have touched it if it weren't for I recognised Steve the Pirate and hot receptionist from 30 Rock.If you havent seen Tucker and Dale vs Evil you probably should
Best. Dad. Ever.given that I failed parenting a couple of weeks ago when I took her to Deadpool
Watched the remake of point break, a bit rubbish, but some great stunts and filming of the action
Worth watching just for the thrills
