The new platform...

Well this new format is going to take some getting used too! But let's not confuse familiarity with perfection. I have a few things I like about the new and a few things I miss about the old. I thought a space to discuss such things may lead to some great fine tuning of the forum.

I dig that there is a like function.

I miss the way that the forum home page told me who posted in which thread last for each sub forum.

I'm still not sure where I stand on the trophies.

Damn screen is filling with notification!

On my phone, my avatar space is a big question mark.

I just scoped the new posts feature. It has the avatar of the thread creator and when it was last updated, but no indication of who updated.

I have worked out how to turn them off now. I also made a nice big avatar specifically for you.

Does anyone else find use of the word "message" a bit confusing now?

Trophies are a wank IMO

As much as I don't like change, if we can have the old colour scheme back I can deal with the rest of the changes, not a fan of the white, looks overly basic and generic.

Post count doesn't really matter, join date is probably more important have if either of the two make a comeback

Edit: Guess the new layout also messes up the old signatures too. Have fixed mine but the link to original post the quote was from is now broken/non-existent

Second that about quotes in sigs going out of whack. Not too much of a fan of the new theme, hopefully we can find a skin that suits. Is it possible to use markdown in the editor? That would be beaut!

Still working on the theme. Made a few changes this morning, expect it to keep changing throughout this week.

Is there any feed back on the search function?

Is it possible to quote multiple posts/messages in one go?

It feels like a long scroll (on mobile) to get to the spot where I can compose a post. But when I get there I find it a smoother process than the old way.

The photo uploading process is easy to use and a lot faster than the old days. However when uploading to the site it seems that 1MB is the size limit. This is pretty small, my not very high tech phone is around 4MB as a standard size and newer fancy phones likely much more. If we are going to share our porniest of bike pics I think we will all appreciate better quality files. I can't squint and "concentrate" at the same time, and concentrating is killing my eyesight.

Question: is it possible to increase the minimum file size for uploads?

Lets try something new.... I've increased the maximum upload size to 5MB, but the maximum resolution to 1024x768. Apparently any photos larger than this size will be resized by the server and then saved. That should keep the file sizes down. I don't think there's many photos on here that need to be bigger.

The only photos I take that need to be made bigger than that aren't allowed to be posted on the forum...
