Clean your floor.
That's what the wife is for....

....who am I kidding, grey hair and chest pains are what the wife is for.

It's the supermarket car park. I live under a bridge, I just get a new refrigerator box when things get messy.

If I get this crankset:
https://www.torpedo7.com.au/product...no-fc-m8000-1-xt-crankset-175mm-w-o-chainring

... and this chainring in 32:
http://www.wolftoothcomponents.com/products/96-mm-bcd-chainrings-for-shimano-xt-m8000

... will it make frosted donuts taste better than plain cinnamon ones?

And also, will the setup work with 10 speed chain, cassette, derailleur?

My gut feeling is No to the first question, and Yes to the second. The bit I don't understand is why a crankset sold without rings is listed as 11 speed.

Yes, to both.

This is the last time I will tell you....

Yes.

Because the stupid, new asymmetrical BCD is different to the 10speed rings of yesteryear, is my supposition.

Yes, to both.
Remember the crunch of the Mansfield ones? You lose that with frosting.

Or, at best, you only get it on one row of teeth.

P.S. the Mansfield donut van was better than my recent Berry donut van sampling.

My chain had worn to the point that 12 links equalled 12 1/16 inches so it was time for a new one but now I find the old cassette is not playing nicely with the new chain. The 2 highest gears (11-13) skip under load.

So time for a new cassette.

I currently run 1x10 with an xt cassette with a one-up 42T cog and 16T cog replacing 15-17.

Do I buy a sunrace 11-42 for $90 as a cost effective replacement for the whole cassette or spend $280 on XT level 11 speed parts?? (Cassette, derailleur, shifter and chain)

Any long term views on the sunrace mx3 11-42 cassette?
