Did I see something about it being frowned upon to post a bike for sale on behalf of a mate? He has a sweet Foxy to sell, but doesn't frequent these forums.

Just get him to give you the bike, sell the bike you now own, give him the money.
Never done it but it may be acceptable.
Think the rule was to protect people from getting dudded then have the seller say " not my bike, not my fault, blame old matey.
Remember that your reputation is at stake

Pretty much.

Over the years selling for friends has caused more grief than good deals, so that's the position we take on it.

Not suggesting @BT180 that you or your mate have anything untoward going on with the sale, but we're staying consistent with this.

If he has it for sale elsewhere you're welcome to post up the link here for people to check out, but ideally communication would go directly to your friend.
