XC The "Temporary Solution" Dual Suspension Singlespeed - Jet9RO

John U

MTB Precision
After totalling my One9RDO, I needed a Singlespeed to race the Dirty Weekend 24HR

Enter this monstrosity!

Part spares bike, part bits from the One9

Actually rides really really well

‘Climbs like a mountain goat’ I’m sure.

Good luck with the race!

From DH to XC(ish) to liking a 29er...... It a slippery slope @safreek

I can give Burt a good home when you buy a little yappy mutt.
Yeah, I feel a bit girly on the 165mm bike but in my defence I am taking the astrix for a ride in the next few days.
I really don't have any hate for 29rs but the riders bite sooo easily. Probs never will not have a 26 but who knows

I am impressed... have been considering building a SS but never thought about doing it with a FS rig! I loved my old Jet9. Off to see if I can emulate you...

As sick as the bike is, I would die on a FS SS. Way to much standing and mashing pedals. I struggle if my remote lockout is buggered on my SS and it’s a hard tail!

In saying that I want a ride of it

I would suggest that if you're mashing that much, you might benefit from lowering your ratio slightly?

It suffers over 12% or so gradient and very much so when standing.
Left it in "Trail" level 1 on the ProPedal for the whole 24hrs
That being said, I've taken it over this bad boy climb a few times on my commute to work and it goes OK

Started on 32/20 for a few months when new to it then moved to 32/19. Still have to stand and pedal - on the 20 you just climb slower.
