Finished rebuilding the khs/raceline/whateverthehellitis today. If I said it rode as good as it looks I'd be a liar, but it's ace to see just how far we've come in a 1/4 of a century!





Pulled down completely, rusty bolts replaced, greased all the pivots so they move, most of the pitting removed from the alloy, repainted the front triangle, silicone oil down the forks and shock to free them up, replaced seat, bars, stem, grips, pedals, new cables, new shifter/levers, new tubes, and all round just a bit of tlc that it hasn't had. Probably ever.

Sorry, this is not a vintage mtb. I couldn't find a geriatric frame building thread to ask this question. I'm using an old steel frame as a commuter and there is chunky stuff coming out one of the drainage holes. The other drainage holes have no....discharge.

I'm new to steel frames. Is this normal? Or is this frame rusting on the inside?

I ask because I feel like I'm too young to die from a snapped chain stay. Thanks!
