Tour De Rotorburn 2024 - Starts Sat 29th June

Oh Bini binned it. I don't like the look of this. Jasper can steal green by tour's end. Wanty will have to make sure he doesn't make ANY breaks throughout the remaining stages.

Those intermediate sprints are going to be hectic.
That was also a sort of expensive transfer bringing in Bini for one frikken stage. However, If I left my team as is, he probably would have won.
Murphy's law.... :p

Stage 19 - Time for the Pog to get a couple more minutes?

Probably. They said a couple of nights ago, it's officially the most active Yellow Jersey since Bernard Hinault.
More exciting than the 45yrs of Nairo Quintana style boredom.
Surprising the 30ys of druggies didn't put on a better show.

I'm going for the Lantern rouge...
Have actually watched a few stages which is good. Definitely not been the usual super mega team run away with it year.
Too bad the weather here has been absolutely ass...haven't ventured out on the roadie for weeks.

I haven't been outside on a bike for weeks. Zwift getting a good workout though. Cant even see the city from my place due to rain and fog... which we desperately needed. Except when I want to ride :)

Its a miserable day out there, stopped raining now but the wind has picked up and barely in double figures, reading 9°C at my place. Even the dog has his coat on... well he didnt ask for it or put it on himself but I could tell by the way he looked at me :p

Looking at the trainer now, getting ready to power up. A warm up before nightshift, but not too warm.

I have 1 more of the TDF portal climbs to do by the 22nd, did the bigger ones at 50% as much more than an hour on the trainer gets a bit long for me.
Really want the plain grey 100km jersey but 3hrs is out, might have to get my boys in to do a 10km spell each, $10 each for 10kms, then say 3 Hail-Marys and omit a 20km ride later to keep my kms correct ;)

Couillole is a winner

Well done all.

1ST Suckin' epo 17523 pts
2ND Lord Ponsenby of Frankston 13755 pts
3RD Le Garcon Courer 11977 pts
4TH Art Vanderlay 11449 pts
5TH Le Spanky Ham 11429 pts
6TH Dantheman 0 pts

2 things stand out:
1 - Suckin' epo picked the beyond human rider in the POG for every stage.
2 - Dantheman did not pick the POG for any stage.

Seems Suckin' EPO has the inside word on current chemical enhancements, whereas Dantheman might be playing the long game for when the Pog is in the tail-end of his career and his win records are Armstronged...

We picked pog as winner on every stage, randomly selected all the others... never made a change....

happy with the pigs score

was a good race... We hope they all end with a time trial, and not a champagne sniffin roll up the champs elyees

Quite a reasonable strategy, TBH.
It would be interesting to pick a team and then not be able to make any trades.

Chapeau! to Ozzybmx/Suckin' EPO and all who took part.
I let sentiment get the better of me a couple of times, when in hindsight, the Pogonaut was the only proper bet to make.
Also, my flat stage choices were fecking awful.
I ran out of trades in the 3rd week last year, while this year I had some left by the last couple of stages.

After the Pogonaut and UAE got an iron grip on yellow, the tour took on a heavy Lance Armstrong vibe for me, I have to say.
I'm not going to stop watching world tour pro cycling, but I watch it more for the spectacle of it all. The Mountain, Castle and Food Porn is always worth the view.

Good job all. Yeah the Pog was a banker, only swapped him out after about stage 3-4 for Sprinters and Evenepole for the first TT, which he won.
When you watch his energy and dominance, there is always a thought of what's he taking that others don't have.

Late charge and a throw for the podium. Forgot there was no sprint last stage and left that loafer Cav in 'til the last.
Good time vibes seeing the mountains every year. Fond memories of fixed gear touring around the bigger bits of France BITD.

If he's not on the gear then he's an alien. He never looks tired and sprints a 15% climb effortlessly after a full day in the mountains.
I hope he's not cheating and it's all down to hard work and sports science but the performance gap is so large it's hard not to speculate. The flip side is that if you were on the juice you wouldn't make it so obvious, you know pretend to be out of breath just sometimes.
