Trump..... (The Sophistry Thread)

I’m almost starting to look forward to this - it’s going to be a shitshow of epic proportions. Should be entertaining if nothing else.

Does he? Not very good ones (besides kissing arse). The current defence secretary is a 4 star general.
I don't know the guy and am pretty over the Trump feeding frenzy frankly. Trump will promise the world and deliver maybe 10%. The other 90% will be blocked by courts, special interests and filibuster. This was built into the US system by the founders.

But the Dems are going to have to do some hard time in the wilderness regardless. The fact that Trump has won so convincingly means that they can't just 'cancel' people and issues. Lots of people clearly split their vote on abortion and the 10% swing amongst Latino men is the canary in the coal mine. The old assumptions about the Democratic coalition clearly don't hold water anymore.

The Dems are going to have to put the Left out to pasture and find some way to capture the centre on economic issues and competence.

Trump's policies aren't internally consistent and he's going to fall short in a lot of areas. I'm sure the cracks will begin to show by the mid terms, and the Dems need to take full advantage of this with a convincing candidate for 2028.

Indeed. The Dems, like Labor here, or any progressive party worldwide need to stand up and be progressive. Stop being part of the status quo pig trough of all standard political spaces.

They need to get over their fear of being vilified by the rwnj controlled media sphere. Surely, they have already seen they will be vilified by those soulless succubi no matter what their stance?

Matt Gaetz for Attorney General..

Who is currently bring investigated by Ethics Committee for allegations he may have “engaged in sexual misconduct and illicit drug use, accepted improper gifts, dispensed special privileges and favors to individuals with whom he had a personal relationship, and sought to obstruct government investigations of his conduct,”
And sex with minors....

4 years is a lot of time for leopards to eat faces :)

But he will be reliable in doing what he's told. Best evidence so far for trump following through with threats of revenge. Its going to get spicy!

The Poor can't fight back, it will be a given they cut back on the public purse at the bottom.

They should call the US the US of Africa, it's going to be the same type of governance.

Musk said during a Trump rally before the election that he would identify at least $2 trillion in spending cuts, which would amount to nearly one-third of total government spending, including the mandatory retirement-security programs.
President-elect Donald Trump has announced his picks to help cut government spending. Areas like transportation and education could face heightened scrutiny.

The system that the US always rail against, Socialism, doesn't fail because of the fundamentals of Socialism, it fails sbecause of corruption.

I'm sure NASA could manage a pretty decent budget cut just by offloading a couple of external contracts...

Actually the poor still have access to guns. There are ways and means of fighting back when you have nothing to lose...
