I only read the article quickly but it seems they aren't happy that PBS would require sourcing of medicine from the most economical supplier (seems legit) whereas the USA big pharma want us to buy their overpriced gear.

They wouldn't need a week. A few hours max, and there will - all going well - be blubbery piles of trump family schnitzel, and a flattened and 'tenderized' musk.

They tried this trick years ago when the so called free trade agreement was being negotiated. We waive our rights on copyright infringements instead...

This might hit CSL if they are US exposed (I thought the US was giving up on drugs and vaccines anyway) but it may not impact Cochlear that much as they have local US assembly...so saying fuck off shouldn't be too hard.

They're just typical scum, most Aussies don't know the free ride the US has had from penny pinching from smaller nations over the years.
We pay ridiculous prices for products from the US. They tie up corporates not to sell to us from other countries and then price fix in Australia.

They did it with the automotive industry, they have done it with earth moving equipment, they have done it with mining, they profit from our real estate. It all used to be about give and take between countries but for Trump to imply everyone is leaching from them is BS, no free lunches for anyone in the end. It's funny how China is cutting them off from specific markets and I don't blame them.
