President Donald Trump announced Tuesday that the U.S. will get its first oil refinery in 50 years, funded by investments from Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries.
“THIS IS A HISTORIC $300 BILLION DOLLAR DEAL — THE BIGGEST IN U.S. HISTORY,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
$300 billion sounds like lot.... and is being financed by an Indian company with a market cap of only $200 billion
Under the newly signed agreement:
- 1.2 billion barrels of U.S. light shale oil will be purchased and processed — a value of $125 billion
- AFR will produce 50 billion gallons of refined products — a value of $175 billion
- The U.S. trade imbalance will improve by $300 billion
ahh, so the deal is not $300 billion... but the refinery will make $175 billion worth of product (after buying $125 billion raws = $50bil value add)
America First Refining received a 9-figure investment from a global supermajor at a 10-figure valuation.
hmm,
$300bil = $300,000,000,000
9-figures=$123,456,789...... so hundreds of million, not hundreds of billion? of America First Indian investment
or maybe i just can't freedom-math?
