What did you do TO / WITH / FOR your bike today!

Went to reef hills state park, had 2 hours to kill and it was the closest place with dirt. Thought I might be able to find something.. parks vic stated it has bushwalks and riding tracks.
From what i could see it serves 2 purposes, 4wd tracks and rubbish tip for Benalla. So much rubbish. I passed a car dumping stuff out of their boot whilst I drove out.
Should have just gone to the gym.

I thought "fuck yeah...a multipurpose skate park, this council have got their shit together, oh wait that says parks Vic." But then the rubbish tip part did spur a little hope.

Skate parks are one of those things...I love that we have them, but they are just too specific. Like most of our parks. Currently every time I see a skate park I wonder why there isnt a few sets of dirt lumps and a pump track or two? For all the grief that goes into getting them up and running why not throw in as much as possible all at once?

On the home front,. Number of bowling clubs on crown or park land have shut down. After years of being vacant hey end up demolished and turned into lawn. What a dissapointing outcome.

I remember in school the council put a proper skatepark in. Back when rollerblading was cool.
The dug out an area and left the dirt piled up next to the park. For about six weeks we made dirt jumps. Placed was packed with kids on bikes.
Then the council came in and trucked all the dirt out.
Skatepark still there.. no one uses it. Area where we built the jumps is an unused open field. Always felt they completely missed the mark on that one.

That’s as xc as I get these days. Change the wheels and um well that’s it. I’ve even stripped my xc bike to frame. This may be in preparation for a new edition. The Mrs knows what colour the bikes are so all in the prep

It’s the usually shit, we've got a few skate parks with dirt jumps here and the dirt jumps just end totally trashed each time by little kids.

Rollerblading was cool, Greenday were edgy and Daniel Johns was a freak.
All around the same time Bolton from heartbreak high raced through the corridors of his school.
It didn't last long.. but rollerblading was cool.

Micheal Bolton's when a man loves a women, performed live, played over the top of slow motion porn, to this day is one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
(I am silently firm on my rollerblade opinion)

I can't ride because I'm half deaf at the moment and wobbling around like a drunkard. So I helped my brother in law finish building his aggressive hardtail.
I should have taken a photo of the bike before he left to test it out on Sluice and Old School at Black Hill.
Fixed a "broken" XTR lever from a set that I got for cheap (because one lever was broken...) It seems the reach adjust/actuator was wound allll the way out from the lever blade. So I screwed it back in, re-attached the line, bled the brake and it seems to be working.
