What did you do TO / WITH / FOR your bike today!

Ride a slow 10km loop at Majura. Was prime hero dirt conditions, but I haven't ridden for a while so no heroics I thought.

Followed mate down Pinot Grinio who is marginally quicker than me on most dh stuff, felt smooth. Went across then up the hill and did Planet Claire, then back to the carpark. Mate's crank fell off a few mins after the downhill, twice in the couple of k's back to the car.

Good to be back on the bike. Got home and realised I had a 3 second faster record time for Pinot, and had not ridden since late December last year.

Bike was almost like it hadn't had a break, low tyres obviously, needed air in the dropper which was sticking just below full extension a few times and both shocks were marginal. All aired up for the next ride soon.
Must have just missed you!
Did you do the Sicknick table?
We did the rebuild of that tree stump jump into the janky left hander on Dirty Distancing.
Now has a ramp and rocks on the other side (Without dirt as a filler this time so should last longer)
Got a ride in after to check the full run, with some post build adrenaline.

My son bought me a gopro a little while ago so I feel obliged to create more of a digital footprint. Shuttles yesterday at Toowoomba in glorious conditions with a couple of mates, such a good day. I'm using a chest mount and need to angle the camera up a little more but got some semi decent footage (lots of yeeewwww's over jumps that my son finds amusing lol)

How did you go with your repairs? What you end up using?

There is no need to get past that point. I looked at mine on the weekend, it's prolly 4 times what oldcorrollas has.

Smooth with very fine wet and dry, that is all. Nail polish and so forth is a complete waste of time, it comes off quickly and in reality makes no difference with a tiny nick like these.

I know because I did the nail polish before I rode the current bike, it came off in a few weeks, so I did it again, then it came off agian, so I left it, that was 3200km ago.
i smoothed off the edges sticking up (carefully, wet worn 1200 i think?), filled with superglue/graphite as it was deep enough (from pencil led) and then sanded smooth again.

The superglue+graphite mix is still in there after a few hundred km, no wear to seal and hasn't fallen out. Turned out orright.

don't think epoxy or nail polish would last.

As above though, if no oil leaky, may not matter?

Nice work. Are you a Toowoomba local? We are just down the bottom of the range.

can i ask what majura is like? i have to go wollongong in 4 wks was thinking i might break up trip with quik ride, single speed or geared, can i navigate easily?
Super easy to navigate on either a single speed or a geared bike. There is a guy that runs a Provo? Single speed out at Majura on dig days and still hits everything, no problem, but must have the next level base of fitness. Send me a PM if you want and I can show you around.

We drove out for the day from Brisbane. The trail team have done a great job of those trails! Lucky to have them so close to you!
Hoping we can get there more than a few months of the year, its such a cool place but the tracks compared to Canberra are next level, left a fair bit of skin last time we were there, but the pub just near our street is good to grab a drink on the way home now they stock the non-alco beers.

I hope so. We have a 70km leg buster planned at Derby this weekend. Ride from Derby to Blue Tier and back. If that doesn't set us up for the Cardigan nothing will.
Here's hoping you make it past Banjo Outpost, just before Blue Tier, unscathed.............

That's on the shuttle road isn't it?
We are going to ride the old school track up to Blue Tier. It's the one that continues up if you ride up to do Big Chook.
The Hicks will never see us coming. :p

Wicked, have a blast. I did the 50 last year and suffered enough!

I've done the 50 on my Ebike the last two times and said that I'll do it on a normal bike this time. I have a few mates that were giving the 106 a crack so I thought what the hell, if I'm going to do my first 100, it may as well be a decent one. :p

Yesterday I decided today was the day to get back on the bike. It rained all last night so that means they'll want to keep people off the trails as Crankworx is on at the moment.
So you're riding it around the block a few times while you wait?
