What did you do TO / WITH / FOR your bike today!

Finally rode mine for the first time in few weeks as Mrs Cammas hasn’t been well and when she was I had to do some work on the car, anyway we hit the Youies today and it was really quiet not sure if it was the wind or people off riding Creswick. Knocked out a 50 which was the first when in a while, whilst riding we did run into a douche bag coming down Rockwell run a gravel bike, who thought it was better to try bunny hop a log on the side of the trail than slow down as we passed each other and then didn’t even slow for my mate who was a ways back. Then we come across this douche bag, who we can only assume he was trying to do a u turn on the one way road, he said he had someone coming to help him.

The idea of Camrys with spoilers is fascinating and as useful as nipples on a bull.

Hot and windy here today.

Not the best day for a blat, but get going while the going is good.

Binned it last night.

It was a beauty. Luckily came away with just minor scrapes and bruises.

Pedal clipped a log (150m into my first run) that had been trail-fairied (MOSTLY) off the main line and it sent me OTB. On Trav's at the YYs for those in the know.

Then I attempted a redemption run on Trav's later on in the dark and promptly dead sailored a rock garden gap (that I've never even attempted in daylight let alone at night 🫣)

Rode it out thankfully.

Lucky it didn't send you into that trail sign!

Yikes. Glad you’re ok. Question is did the suspension go boing or gniob?

I took mine for a few dirty laps. There was no crashing. There was no ticks, that I found yet.

Tick bites from start of the week still look like shit and itch like crazy. Went to the vet yesterday and they suggested some antihistamines as it seems I've had a reaction. Could be an allergy (not had it before) or my piss poor removal technique. The vet advised that the current thinking is to freeze them off. A lady I work with swears by dishwashing liquid.

Lol, it can be like that...

"Shit! The bike!" (checks it over)

"Hang on a second, why are my socks wet?" 🤔

"Ah, that'd be why - I'm bleeding everywhere..."
In answer to your original question.

Slightly bent chainring and stretched gear shifter cable seems to be it. Although I haven't had a proper look TBF

Bugger, could've been worse though I guess. Glad you're alright though mate. 👍

They are nasty Poods. I had a US colleague that was roadie and I asked him why no MTBing. There are reputed to be loads of ticks on the NE of the US in the spring and summer. Ticks and potentially Lyme disease scared him off.

Riders and hikers use DEET or Permethrin spray or tick repellant clothing, longer sock and arm protectors. It would have given more cred to choose not to go in the woods due to bears, mountain lions, sasquatches or crazy people hiding away with axes though.

To hell with ticks.
